Does The Decorator in You Hate Looking At Your Baseboard Heating?

Very often I am in older homes with ugly radiant baseboard heating units. They usually show rust through the paint, and are sometimes dented or so out of shape that the long pieces do not fit together right. I might be able to hide some of the baseboard with furnishings, but even with new furniture, and freshly painted walls and baseboards, they still look awful, and there is nothing you can do to make them look new.

Luckily, I found a product online called OverBoards. The product installs easily over your existing baseboards and there are several designs available to complement your home's architectural details. The website http://www.go-overboard.com/ even has installation instructions so you know what you are getting into before you buy the product.

Is Your Heat Register Getting In The Way Of Your Decorating Plan?

Do you have air heat or airconditioning with registers in the floor? Believe it or not, you CAN put a piece of furniture over it! My clients are always happy when they realize that an arrangement they never thought was possible can be the one that transforms the room. And, there is no longer a need to risk getting the energy czar of your house upset in order to make it happen.

As long as you have 1 1/2" of space under the piece all you have to do is buy a Heat Register Deflector. ImprovementsCatalog.com carries them for $13.00. Quoting them: "Our PVC air register deflectors sit over the register and re-direct the cooled or heated air from under the furniture. Simply place air register deflectors over the register. The air register deflectors click securely onto the floor register and extend from 22" to 37" bringing the air out from under your chair, couch, bed, cabinet, curtains or end table."
